Tips For Self Tanning Your Face

Hey,

Summer is coming to an end and well all want to keep that glowing tan we got this summer through the whole winter and that's where self tanner becomes your friend. The self tanner for the face I like is the Lorac SelfTantalizer for face. I find that it give me light glowing color; this product is a gradual self tanner.

When using self tanner on your face you first want to read the instructions and do a patch test on your wrist, this will not only show you if you'll have a reaction but if the product will turn you orange. I generally use the same amount of self tanner as I would moisturizer, don't over do it. Using too much is how you get strikes. Generally all you need is a dime size. I rub the product in between my hands and then all over my face, getting the ears and down the neck. This is important because without these areas it will look really strange and fake. After I cover my face I go over my face with a clean stippling brush. This is very important, it will insure your completely blended in and help get rid of patches that just using your hands could leave. It will also leave you look more naturally tan. Last thing I do is wash my hands, make sure you do this immediately after you finish or you'll end up with tan palms and that's not always a good look.

Other things you should always do before self tanning: apply to freshly cleaned, dry skin. Exfoliate prior to self tanning and slowly build up the color, never apply four coats at one time. I also suggest waiting eight to twelve hours before washing your face again.

Glowing Skin for Summer

Hey, so we all want skin that is tan and glowing, or at least most of us do. Personally I tan which is terrible, I know, so these tips go along with keeping a nice and even tan too.

So if you are very anti tanning or being out in the sun self tanner is your friend, like I said I tan so I have never used one but I hear good things about St. Tropez, Gergens, and the one by Tarte. No matter you method of getting bronzed skin exfoliating prior to tanning or self tanner is a must! I personally like using shower puffs so I exfoliate daily, not so much will tanning, which is important when tanning or self tanning don't exfoliate to hard just lightly.

Drinking water, this has to be the most preached thing in the beauty world. But there is a damn good reason for this. Getting you daily needed amount of water is so good for every part of your body, especially your skin. This helps keeps your skin from drying out which keeps your tan even. This also helps give that glowy look. So try to get at least eight cups a day, plus with the summer heat you are more prone to getting dehydrated.

Not only is it important to drink lots of water to keep your skin healthy but using lotion, you really want soft skin that glows, I like to apply lotion at least twice a day, usually three times. Before you go to bed and after you wake up, after the shower, I shower at night so I apply lotion after my shower then once I wake up. Also after you go tanning or are out in the sun apply lotion, tanning can really dry out your skin.

Now if your impatient for this to naturally show through a good highlighter in the summer is a must, I really like Sheercover Lid to Lip Highlighter in Bronzing, for drugstore Wet n Wild has a couple really nice ones.

I just want to add at the end of this that it is important to wear SPF, no one likes a sunburn and this also can help prevent wrinkles and early aging, so if this is a big concern for you go the self tanning route or rock the pale skin, nothing wrong with that! This is only a few ways to get glowing skin for the summer, but these are what I find I do the most.

Quick Tip! Moisturizer

Hey,

I wondered across this tip a while back and thought I would make a short post on it, and share it with you. You should always apply moisturizer while your face is still damp, this goes for all lotion. Doing this locks in the moisture that the water skin better. I find that I sometimes let my face dry first so I typically lightly spray my face with water before applying moisturizer. Honestly I feel a difference from when I do this and when I don't, even if you personally can't feel a difference, it really does add just a bit more moisture to your skin and it great to do in the winter!

Is this something you do? If you haven't tried this and decide to tell me please let me know if you feel a difference too?

Tips for at home hair dying

Hey,

I have been dying my hair for a few years now and a few tips I wanted to share. First I do want to say if you are dying your hair more then three shades lighter or darker go to a salon, you never want to go from black hair to blond, it is to easy to mess up and not worth it if you do.

So the first tip I have is to get some one else to dye your hair for you. I always have my sister dye my hair, but anyone would work, don't have some one who has no clue what to do dye your hair though. It's easier for people to get your whole head and not miss any spots then it is for you. These can also help with mess, both down your neck and face or house. If you can't get some one else to do or even if you can, dye it in sections, four usually works best.

Always have one more box of dye then you think you're going to need. It is always best to be safe and have an extra then to be short one, plus you'll have another for next time you dye your hair.

Before you even get to dying you should test it on either behind your ear or wrist, not going to lie this isn't something I do, I have been using the same dye for quite sometime and have never had a problem and I can never remember to do this, but it is something I do recommend doing especially if it's a dye you've never used before, I would wait an hour and if it doesn't react then I would say you should be fine.

Dye your hair when it's two or three days dirty, dirty hair holds better. I have always been told this by my mom, who is a licensed cosmetologist. Whither you are dying your hair or just adding a chemical treatment of some sort, do it on dirty hair.

Vaseline around the hair line, down the neck and on the ears; don't get this in your hair. This will keep the dye from staining your skin.

Using a hair dryer on your hair while the dye is in it will open the hair cuticle, allowing the dye to really get into it. Personally this isn't something I do unless my hair isn't dying.

So now that you've dyed your hair and are done with that, I recommend going a week without heat products. Dying your hair does some damage and its always nice to give your hair a heat free week after dying to prevent even more damage.

My last tip would be do a deep treatment in seven days, I always wait a week, I honestly don't know why I just do. By now all the dye that didn't get rinsed out should definitely be and the dye should be locked into the cuticle. Also wash your hair every two to three days, this is overall better for your hair but also helps prevent it from fading so fast. If your new to skipping washes you can check my post on dry shampoos out here.
